Dialecticae Piano Trio

The name "Dialecticae" is inspired by the Latin term for dialectics, a tradition of inquiry grounded in dialogue, reason, and the thoughtful exchange of ideas. It embodies our belief that meaningful understanding emerges through open discussion and critical reflection.
The Dialecticae Piano Trio was formed in 2018 in the Chamber Music class of Professor Paulo Pacheco at the Lisbon School of Music and is composed of violinist Veronika Taraban, cellist Leonor Mateus, and pianist Francisco Costa.
Since its formation, the Dialecticae Piano Trio has performed extensively in concerts, prestigious venues, and national and international festivals, including the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa da Música (Porto), Viana da Motta Auditorium, Casa da Cultura de Gião, Museu da Música, Fundação Oriente, Museu dos Coches, and festivals such as Festival Harmos (Porto), European Chamber Music Teachers Association (ECMTA) Festival, A Corda Cello Festival, Lisbon Music Fest, and Estoril Lisbon Festival.
Two years later, the ensemble’s consistent artistic and development culminated in winning First Prize in Chamber Music at the Prémio Jovens Músicos competition.
The trio has also had the opportunity to work with distinguished musicians such as Evan Rothstein, Kyril Zlotnikov, the Maisky Trio, Miguel da Silva, Lars Anders Tomter, Levon Mouradian, Paul Wakabayashi, Paulo Gaio Lima, among others.
